Love the ospreys Sage! I just went through your neck of the woods this past week. I was actually amazed by how many hawks (red-tails I think) and red-winged blackbirds (among other wildlife including strutting turkeys and white-tailed deer) we saw along the NY State Thruway. There's a thick buffer of shrubs and trees behind the fence and usually corn fields behind that so lots of food for predators and prey. We went past the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge, wish we could have stopped but we were on a mission and had many miles to cover. That's one of your favorite photo op places for raptors and waterfowl I think right? We used to pass by Montezuma when traveling between Burlington and Rochester back in the day. I remember all the purple loosestrife there. I hope it's better now with control.

Looking forward to seeing all WGer's April photos, spring is here and it's glorious!

Sage, it is nice to see a photo from you. I wonder if you ever want someone else to take over the contest (for a month) so that you can enter as well. Let us know, okay?

We were in Harrisburg and Gettysburg this weekend (for workshop and for board meeting). While driving back, I kept seeing a single hawk perched along side the highway every so often--at least 3-4 total...and then two flying circling near each other.

Beautiful shots, MILTA! I can't wait for the spring ephemerals and woodland wildflowers to start here.
