Thank you.
I took the grandson for a walk along the snow covered riverbank and found them sunning.
We took a seat in a sunny area and watched them for quite awhile.

Your grandson is lucky to have you...and all the appreciation of nature that you pass on to him.

You cursed Sun!
Look what you've done!
I'm melting! Melting! Oh, what a world! What a world!
Who would have thought Spring could destroy my beautiful Winterness? Oooooh, look out! I'm going! Oooooh! Ooooooh!

Spring is here in NC. No ice melting for us - that was months ago (and we love to rub it in!)

Butterflies to start:

Spicebush swallowtail, with a mantis nymph, on azalea

Snowberry Clearwing (hummingbird) moth, H. diffinis, on azalea

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail on Eastern Blue Phlox

An odd angle to view a katydid nymph...

And, just to prove I can photograph something besides insects,

I think I like your clever comment as much as the photo.

Thanks... I just couldn't resist toying around with some lyrics in my next entry.
