Very cool.

Welcome back.

Hmm...natural spirits, anyone? (A wonderful gardening neighbor and I have decided that the best way to get through the winter--which is proving to be very gray and wet--is to get together more often at the end of the day and have a glass of wine.)

Beautiful photo, MaggyNoLia--and welcome back! Looking through old POMs last week, I realized that we hadn't seen you for a while. (Or I'm being less observant than usual.)

Default bird on maamoth sunflower

This did not come out as sharp as I would have liked by any means, but then maybe it captures the gloominess of winter and how we see past fruits and the hope of what is to come. I was laying in the snow trying to capture a group of song birds in our hedge when I saw this. Never did get the other picture! This is cropped from the original but nothing else. I believe it is a house finch.

There's plenty of beauty among what some may perceive as gloom.
The surrounding play of the sunflower he's within...Its maroon crest mimick the tones of the dogwood and beyond.

Default Winter's Hope

The last Showy Milkweed seed in my yard. I thought I would capture it before it finally detaches.
