Back in the days of separaate camera-mounted flashes, I used one or two layers of a plain white handkerchief to mute the flash on close-ups...

For your viewing pleasure.... I offer my window well art!!
-- The paper towel over my flash was too much. We don't use a lot of paper towels because we mostly use cloth dish towels so I'm thinking what ever generic brand of paper towel I picked up last was just too thick. I was gonna try a piece of toilet paper next but now I'm wondering if I shouldn't try 1 of my husband's white dress shirts. -- Sage> the only poisonous spider we've got is the recluse.

Not that I know that much about venomous spiders, but funnel spiders were never on my radar as dangerous. Good to know...because I think I've seen quite a few of them lately.

Actually they can change color given enough time against the right colored background. Their limit is either red/brown or forest green though. They can't do anything fancy and can't mimic patterns.
