She is an American Copper, Lycaena phlaeas. I have never seen one. Nice catch!
I usually have my camera outside with me when I am working. I have it on a harness that makes it hands free to carry. If I am going to be particularly dirty, I leave it on my patio table. Of course, my poor camera has gotten gritty, pollinated, rained on a bit, but like the proverbial Timex, it keeps on ticking.
