Well it's not wildlife and it's not gardening or native plants, so I don't hold out much hope in winning. It is a pretty pastoral scene though, so I thought I'd stick it here.

Well, among the things it is not, it is a cool shot.

I love the pretty pastoral scene. The Northern Flicker and hummingbird are really nice, too.
I am going for smaller... First, someone hungry looking for lunch. ![]() Second, one of our favorite pollinators. ![]()

It's GREAT to see a long shot brought forth for a change. Is it a Wheat field? Consider it........... "Grand" scale gardening!

Thanks, hava. Yes, it's wheat. Although there are so many things about it that we don't like (monoculture, etc.), it was truly beautiful to see it waving in the breeze. The building is an outbuilding that belongs to a colonial plantation house on the Rappahannock River, not too far from me. The plantation is still being farmed, hundreds of years later, only now they rely on machinery instead of slaves. It was likely a tobacco operation originally.

Some great entries this month. I thought that these gulls were interesting as the shell is off the ground.
