Bizarre Tongue-Eating Parasite Discovered Off the Jersey Coast : TreeHugger

OMFG. I'm going to have nightmares.

Quote:
The sea-dwelling parasite attacks fish, burrows into it, and then devours its tongue. After eating the tongue, the parasite proceeds to live inside the fish's mouth.
The text doesn't do it justice. Go look at the pictures.

I looked.

I'd say that creature is right up there with the creature from the movie Alien busting out of chests.

I'm going in too you wussies...
That THING is one nasty looking critter. Remember that Men in Black movie where they lift off the guy's head and there's that THING in there... well, that's what this THING reminded me of when I looked at it hanging out in that fish mouth dining on tongue. Stoloniferous... I'm not a fru fru but I have to tell you I'm glad I ate dinner hours ago otherwise it might be coming back up on me. Did any of you feel like reaching in there and ripping that THING out of that fish's mouth with hot dog tongs? I would have been hard pressed not to rip it out... then I might have stomped on it until it was good and dead. Not much gives me the heevie jeevies. That THING gave me the heevie jeevies.
