Ya know for a predatory bird it sure spent a lot of time in a tree. After a while he'd dart down to the neighbor's yard but then he'd fly up to another tree and look around. The one time I got a good view of it flying down to grab something I think it was just going after a worm. I didn't notice anything like field mice, but I'm sure there are plenty of those around thanks to my letting everything go to seed.
