Minnesota DNR to unveil plan to save moose | Northland Outdoors | Midwest hunting, fishing and outdoors news
excerpts from above:
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will unveil its species survival plan for moose Tuesday along with a research effort to find out why the animal is declining in the state.

Hit hard by parasites and warmer weather, Minnesotaís moose population is shrinking, and experts fear the state may lose the big, beloved animal for good.
The committee looked at habitat, disease, parasites, hunting and climate, among other issues. Itís expected that the stateís annual moose-hunting season, already restricted to bulls in Northeastern Minnesota, will be further curtailed ó not because hunting is part of the problem but because itís one of the few things the state can control.
The tendency of man's nature to good is like the tendency of water to flow downwards.
