Moose warts ugly but benign: Moose | adn.com
excerpt from above:

Calls are pouring in to the Homer office of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game about moose frequenting the Baycrest and Skyline neighborhoods that have large "tumors" all over their bodies.

The good news is that this is a benign disease with no discernible health risk to the moose.

The bad news is that these unattractive moose won't make the cover of Alaska magazine.

I have photos of moose with tumors! They might be on a back-up drive. If I can get to them tomorrow, do you want them posted here?

TheLorax 08-28-2009 05:17 PM

I would like to see those photos. Please do share them.

Thank you Sage. Your photos would be a welcome addition.

Uhhhh, houston, there's a problem...
I connected that backup drive to the laptop. That drive stored pix from a tower computer. When I connected the drive, it made the usual grinding noises and I got a message that a driver was successfully installed, indicating to me that it had never before been connected to the newer laptop.

When I "explored" the contents all it had were the pix from the laptop which it somehow immediately got, and all the older pix were gone. :bang

My son has the tower now in NY so I sent him a panicky email yesterday. Today I heard from him that he's in Maine!

I not only don't have the bumpy mooses, I have none of my other pix. And I'm still panicking. :weeping

Try not to panic. There may very well be a simple fix you're overlooking.

I tried "sort by date" hoping to find anything prior to when I got the laptop last Sept but no luck.

Let it go Sage. There is no need to torment yourself over moose wart photos.

Tomorrow will be a new day. Our children are often times more computer savvy than we are. Let your son have a chance at helping you locate your photos. Chances are very good they are there and are recoverable.

There are recovery services. Do you back up your hard drive? That is another possible way to recover photos. There are many ways to recover photos. Don't make yourself sick over this. It's 9:30 at night. Your son may be in bed.

I'm the west coast. You and your son are the east cost where it is 11:30. Your son has most likely turned in for the evening.

Try hard not to let this upset you. I am sure your son will have options for you to try.

Thank you for thinking of us. The moose wart photos can wait indefinitely.

We could ask Dave Stiles if he has any pictures of moose with warts. I bet he only has photos of handsome moose, though. :wha
