Default Fake Bear/Birdfeeder photos

Did you get this email photo of a bear raiding a bird feeder?

Bear Bird-Feeder: Hoax?

QUOTED:

When I had an email show up in my in-box with these photographs, I was not convinced. Especially only two days after April fools day. I did some research, which yielded some very big surprises. I've kept the biggest for last.
Obviously the first question that comes to mind is: Is this real?! In these days, easy access to PhotoShop and other graphical editing tools has somewhat rightfully turned us into skeptics. So let's investigate!

As a PhotoShop user, I have to disagree with the fellow who concluded that these photos are fake.

Sneaking around through the actual image showed that this image was last edited August 8, 2005 at 3:02pm with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0, likely pirated. Ah-hah! This hoax has been BUSTED!

PhotoShop Elements is a dumbed-down version of PhotoShop that isn’t capable of the sort of high-quality artistry that it would take to fake these photos. It’s a tool for laypeople to dork around with their home photos. It would take an artist and the full version of PhotoShop to fake these bear photos.

The author doesn’t know his editing programs very well. GIMP is not a “high-end graphics program”, it’s an open-source imitation of PS that makes me want to gouge out my eye in frustration whenever I use it for the most basic of photo-editing. (But since it’s free, I can hardly complain!)

From an artist’s point-of-view, assembling these images would require a ton of reference images of bears. I’m not sure where you could get a pile of pictures of the same sort of bear in the same sort of lighting and from the correct perspectives and doing the same sorts of quirky dangling-by-its-paws antics. The original photos would be amusing enough on their own that adding a birdfeeder would be gilding the lily.

Whether the photo is real or not, its certainly possible.

I've seen enough bears to know they certainly are capable of impressive acrobatics to get to food.

Some people in the original thread where I found this thought that it wasn't fake also.
I wasn't sure about where to put this, but I do appreciate your expert opinion.

He sure is a beautiful bear - no matter if he is a tight rope walker or not!

Just for the heck of it I searched the internet . I found that same set of 4 pics at numerous locations but here are a few more of interest as to the bears determination to get at bird feeders ;

The second photo is of a bear climbing an artificial stone support to a deck.

The one lonediver linked to at the site where you have to pay to see their photos. I'm still a member over there. It is a photo by somebody named vroomp. I could see the photo. Anyone who didn't pay them $20 can't see the photo. The photo is ok. Not worth paying $20 to see.
