Don&squo;t let zoonosis bug you | Herald Sun
excerpts from above:
To most of us, animals are harmless companions. But what happens when a disease jumps across species from animals to humans?

This process – known as zoonosis – is more common than you may think. Many of the infectious diseases that have caused major sickness and deaths in humans worldwide originated from animals.

They include HIV, Ebola, bubonic plague, yellow fever, Lyme disease, rabies and mad cow disease. More recently there’s been bird flu, SARS, monkey malaria and, of course, A(H1N1), or swine flu.
The tendency of man's nature to good is like the tendency of water to flow downwards.

So says the pet industry...
Look at that beautiful young woman next to that beautiful horse...
Wouldn't all of us like to be that vision of loveliness??? I guess all we have to do to be that beautiful is buy a horse and let our hair grow long then stand with the sun to our backs for our photo op.
They rattle off ebola and bubonic as if they're no big deal and there will be people who will buy they're no big deal because they read it online so it must be true. They're marketing to our emotions. They're downplaying the seriousness of some highly infectious diseases.
