Natural Resources staff will look for fetuses in does and check bone marrow in all deer to see if the animals are in a state of starvation.
Mr. Nette said spring roadkill provides a good sample size to determine the impact of the winter.

And I thought my job was tough at times. How would we like to be stuck studying road kill. Ewwww ick.

On a sad note, it is a shame so many of them are starving to death.

Well, I realize that scientific research is important, but in these hard times I wonder if this the best use of this resource:

I hope those folks studying roadkill are fast on their feet - wouldn't want them to be the NEXT casualty.
