Casper Star-Tribune Online - Wyoming
excerpts from above:
Quote:
GREEN RIVER -- Invasive aquatic critters like zebra mussels are small, about the size of your palm. But they can have a giant impact on the state's water resources if introduced, Wyoming wildlife officials say.
Quote:
Spokeswoman Lucy Wold said a Rock Springs resident was about to launch his newly bought boat on the reservoir when the mussel was discovered.

The 40-foot Sea Ray boat was recently purchased and transported from a marina located on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

Wold said it was fortunate that the new owner -- who was aware of the aquatic invasive species threat -- asked a mechanic at the Buckboard Marina south of Green River to inspect the watercraft.

I have two different mussel photos for you from California shoreline if you would like them posted to see if these are invasive also. I'm sure ANY mussle would overtake all surfaces possible given enough time!

You gotta admit they're pretty... what ever they are.
