Default Bees , Monsanto, the dark side.

Very interesting article. But it does not (as usual with these articles ) address the huge number of native bees, most of which are solitary not hive bees, that have to survive pesticide use on plants everywhere. Does the mite cause as big a problem with other bees than honeybees? Maybe this is why Xerces and other environmental groups have trouble listening to these ideas. If they do not address the life of all bees in the field then the damage they do is not mitigated by the work for honeybees. We must not let that stand. While applauding his work at Monsanto to help bring awareness of the plight of honey bees, as far as I am concerned the scope is too narrow to be environmentally sound. Your ideas, even pointing out ways that this article is hopeful, would be appreciated. I try to see all sides but my blinders can be powerful.

To be fair to Wired they did add another article covering the native bees.
