Default Native Plant Sale at Audubon in Bernardsville NJ

I hope everybody has been okay. It's been a while since I posted. I won't be taking advantage of it but the Audubon center in Bernardsville NJ is having their native plant sale this year much to my surprise. This year you need to order online and pick up the plants at the specified day/time on the weekend of June 6. They have some plants not as easy to find elsewhere and in the past I've been satisfied with the prices.

Here is the link to their order form in case you're interested:

Here is the page to the center homepage:

One of the nurseries I deal with is normally open just Sundays and Mondays. She is normally out selling at nature events on Fridays and Saturdays. Was worried her business was doing poorly because of COVID causing all those events to be canceled. Went up there Sunday to release moths. She said her business is having its best year ever. People are pre-ordering and then driving long distances to pickup the plants.

She runs a native plant nursery and goes the extra mile to try to make sure everything she sells is the Ohio phenotype.

Yeah people are loading up on plants everywhere. Anything that people are familiar with is sold out everywhere, like cardinal flower and butterfly weed. I drove over an hour to go to a small backyard nursery to pick up an online order, glad I did because they had some uncommon plants of local provenance that I bought on site. Thanks for posting about this sale

Nice to see you post, loris.

KC and skip...I would love to find more local ecotypes. I have put off shopping for natives, but I do still want to buy several trees. Now I am thinking they may be sold out.
