Default Humbling and Fascinating Pictures of Space

The picture that this link brings you to happens to be my favorite of the bunch: Andromeda Galaxy. Be aware, though, that it is only one of many in a series. Simply scroll through and find your own "most fascinating."

It's a series of pictures that might be therapeutic to anyone taking themselves too seriously. Space therapy, you might call it.

More, I suggest, traumatic, for one trying to think about what's going on out there. I could never be an astronomer -- too many unknowns.

When one realizes the utter immensity of the known Universe, it seems extremely arrogant of us to believe that the Earth (and us) are anything special - we are like a single grain of sand among all the beaches on Earth...
