Oh Boy! I love to look at artistic weather photos. Im not much of a photographer myself - but I hope this thread keeps going. I live the moody pictures!

My father lives up there and I was visiting him. It doesn't happen often enough although it should now that he's (supposedly) moving to the lower 48. (He's been talking about doing so for about 10 years now. AK gets into your blood).

I've heard of that..... My brother in law lived there for a few years and loved it.
He says he came home with a heart the size of Texas Errrrrrr Alaska!
I tried putting a line through that Texas part but failed...

Here's a winter sunrise over Bartel Grassland south of Chicago. It was about 18 degrees, froze my fingers off that morning. Amazing how a metal tripod can suck the warmth right out of your hands when you get it good and cold. But it resulted in one of my photos that I sold to the late, great Chicago Wilderness Magazine, click here to see the results. Sunrise shot is below.

You can easily loose track of Winters freezing bite while surrounded by such beauty.
