Default Do you have a favorite "natural" area you visit?

Where’s your favorite “natural” area in the US or Canada? If you’ve got photos…. could you add them?

Then pick 1 from each category and add some photos along with what you like about em because it'd be nice having ideas of places to visit from folk who've actually gone to them!!!

alligator Kayakking the Orange River

Fort Myers, FL, kayakking the Orange River is very cool! This is part of the preserve in the last place we stayed for the winter. It isn't a park, you can enter the river anywhere but at the Verandah, there were free canoes and kayaks at your disposal. So many plants, bromeliads everywhere, Kapok trees, serenity...

BUMP!!!! I can't believe nobody aside from Sage has any photos of natural areas!!! No fair.... I'd love to see some meadows, prairies, forests, savannas, bogs, dunes, marshes, nature preserves, or anything off the beaten path or even off the not so beaten path that's worth a visit!!!

These pictures were taken at the Magee Marsh Wildlife area, specifically the Crane Creek Estuary trail. October 13 was the first time I'd visited in more than a decade, but I'll be back. (Maybe some year I'll be free during the spring warbler migration.)
