sun Back from vacation here's some pics

Just got back from my vacation in Coralla NC. I really love going there it has such a unique environment. Its on along narrow peninsula stretching about 25 miles south from the VA border on the coast and is part of the outer banks chain of barrier islands.. it seperates the Currituck sound fresh water from the Atlantic ocean in some place there is literally a few hundred yards seperating the to so many cool things to see. I didn' take a ton of pics (left with a nearly full sd card and no reader) but I thought I'd share some of the cool things I saw.

Love your new avatar!!! Too cute!!! Persimmons have always been a favorite of mine. The dragonfly photo is my favorite.... you did good getting close enough to get that photo. I dunno where you were staying but your kids musta had a blast being able to run around what with water they could play in and turtles they could watch!!!

I wish I could get a dragonfly photo that good!

Love the group shot of the turtles too...and the leaves on the Simlax are so cool-looking. Thanks for sharing.

EQ> yes my new avatar is quite amusing as is yours and I love the new moniker "Pantyhose Princess" too funny. I assume yours were gifted to you by the WG web fairies like mine.

Dap> That dragonfly was very well behaved and stood still for his picture unlike my children

Suunto> thanks for the ID's i was wondering what species they were but haven't had the time to look. those cicada nymphs were all over the place must have just missed the hatch.

Papercarver> I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 I bought at Costco years ago never was really serious into photography but this camera seems to do a pretty good job.
