Default Winter in the Garden

Ok, What's showing in your landscape.

The switch grass along the street still has a warm reddish color which will bleach to a pale straw later in the season.

Comparison between Fall and Winter.

Will-o-wisp, I wish that you were my neighbor! I think that your garden looks wonderful in any season.

Thanks Hedgerowe and Leslie.

I was outside this morning photographing waterspouts on a street tree when I noticed the sun illuminating some of the grasses in front. They really look like they are flaming, the photo is not color enhanced.
The photo also shows the evergreen boughs I place at the base of the street plantings to protect from street salts and frost heaves.
I collected 4 discarded Xmas trees so far.

I think Gloria had already started a Winter interest thread so maybe my thread could be added to hers?

Will-o-wisp, sun low in the sky sets grass aglow and is so pretty. I just love pictures of your garden.
You have inspired me to add more defined paths and more ground covers. We can support two winter interest threads, one can be with snow one without. Yours looks better than mine without snow but I'm working on it for next year...Gloria
