Default Flora Hall of Shame Invasive Species Contest

Announcing the Flora Hall of Shame Invasive Species Contest.

We'll run it from February 1st on through the entire month of October.

This is not a non-natives photo contest. The plant has to be an invasive species/noxious weed or on a current list to be approved for Hall of Shame classification.

Not sure if you have a contender? Post your photo in our 'Help Identifying Plants' forum-
http://www.wildlifegardeners.org/for...splay.php?f=61

Once you have a photo, post it in the Invasive Flora forum in the associated thread. If a thread does not exist for the species you have photographed you will need to start one.

Winner will receive a signed copy of David Mizejewski's book, 'Attracting Birds, Butterflies, and Other Backyard Wildlife'.

Our member Dmizejewski has contributed a signed copy of his book 'Attracting Birds, Butterflies, and Other Backyard Wildlife' as a prize for Wildlife Gardeners to award to the member who adds the most photos of invasive species.

His book is available for sale from National Wildlife Federation's e-commerce store-

It is also available from Barnes & Noble

Is that where I put photos in for the invasive species contest?
I'll look for it in the forums and see if I can locate where to enter them.

When starting a thread for an invasive species, try to use both the scientific and any known common names.

Is this where I would put the phragmites photos (Phragmites australis, non native genotype (Common Reed))
or in the thread that you keep adding the bad boys to about being the most invasive?

You would go to that forum and search to see if there is an existing thread first. There is one.

Phragmites australis, non native genotype (Common Reed)

If there had been no thread, you would have needed to start one for your photo(s).

Clarification for Flora Hall of Shame Invasive Species Contest

Deadline for entries is Oct 31, 2009
No obvious image manipulation (cropping and contrast adjustment are fine)
