The gray and orange bugs are adults and nymphs, respectively, of a leaf-footed bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Coreidae). Some of these (the squash bug, for one) can be plant pests

ButterflyLinda has a photo that's gonna kick all our butts!!!! I know the photo well since it was on my computer monitor as wall paper for years!!! Sage.... go beg her to dig it up and post it!!! You will be laughing your rear off when you see this photo!!! Either I'm totally twisted that it tickled my funny bone so much for soooooo long or.... it's really is major league funny bone tickling material. I'm thinking it's major league funny bone material.

Here are a few of the unrulier critters in my garden this month. I'd love to know the id of the spider. It was well over an inch across, and I accidentally dug up its burrow as I was planting a clethra. We startled each other quite thoroughly. There was no obvious funnel web.

Do we know what kind of moth BBBBecky posted? The one that wasn't a luna? It was beautiful,

I've been requested by Sage to enter my pink budworm photo. I don't want to enter too many or y'all will think I'm overly coveting the ladybug figurine.

That ladybug is adorable - coveting is expected with a prize like that!

BooBoo, your moths are so cool! Roger had one bugging him at the computer last night so he Buddha'd it, letting it fly away free from the den window. We have removed all our screens so we get some guests at night! I said we should put a flashlight behind an open jar and catch them for photo subjects! They get attracted by the floodlights mounted outside our balcony and den.
