A native bee management workshop will be presented this Friday, May 15, in Madison, WI.
Quote:

In this workshop, participants will learn the basic practices necessary to manage populations of solitary cavity-nesting leafcutter and mason bees. Various members of these species are effective pollinators of all major bee pollinated Wisconsin crops.

A morning classroom session at the UW-Madison Arboretum will provide an overview of the biology of these bees and a discussion of their management systems.

Following a break for lunch (on your own), the workshop will re-convene at Gardens of Goodness in McFarland, an organic apple orchard and a market farm to view and observe a managed population of these bees at work.

A workshop textbook is included in the registration price, and other materials will be for sale at the event.
