I'm sorry!
Seems I've neglected to show you the ingredients from which I'll be choosing from to fill the boxes I've already gathered.

Dutchmans pipes, Horsetail, grasses, branches of leaves, decaying birch branches

bat

The design has changed immensely from my original game plan as a few of the parts were used elsewhere.

I decided to create......MAN!

I now add the sliding drawer to its chest and leave a small opening at the base of its belly.
I'm hoping the small slit will attract a few bats.

Very interesting. It kind of reminds me of a fancy brushpile for insects. This is a good reminder havalotta to remember to provide for insects in your gardens and outdoor spaces.

I posted a lot of pix of really cool insert hotels last year if anyone remembers what thread it was. Also, Pinterest would be a great place to find them.

I love this piece! This is truly functional garden art! I'm inspired to build a bug condo this summer and if it looks only half as good as this one, I'd be extremely happy.

Very nice work!

Thank you, but it is not done yet.....
Its crannies shall be stuffed and filled with all kinds of interesting items chosen from what I've collected. See post #11

If I had omitted the hat and applied the star to it's chest instead, it would have remained......Man

Tis now a wo-man.

In the upcoming year,
I may replace the star with a sphagnum, dryer lint, dried grass or feather filled purse for the birds to gather from for their nest building.
