EW> "My box turtle avatar magically appeared" Ya…. just like an avatar of a pile of pantyhose and my “pantyhose princess” title magically appeared…. again… thanks to recurve. At least you were "gifted" a "tasteful" avatar. There’s a playful poltergeist or something in our forums who likes playing with us. Anywhooo…. you can change an avatar to anything you want if the powers that be here “gift” you…. just go into your control panel and change it but…. if you get “gifted” with a title you don’t want….. you have to drop a hint you want it gone and it’ll magically disappear.

Yes... ahm special all right... ahm the pantyhose princess.... again. That's what I get for staking everything around here with old pantyhose!!! You must rate with the gremlins in the computer here.... the avatar I was gifted was literally.... a pile of pantyhose. It was funny for a while though. I'd sure like whatever my old title was back.

I saw 4 box turtles in the spring. Then I didn't see any until this one was at the pasture gate in late summer.

Turtles are on the move! I saw two today, this one skedaddled into the garden from the field.

Question

Don't know much about turtles, but could someone please help ID this one? I know this is not a very descriptive pic, but this turtle was found with a moss-covered shell high up on the banks of a drainage ditch (if that helps). So, it was likely normally down in the water...

I had assumed at the time that it was simply another Red-Eared Slider...but its (unstriped) yellow legs, black claws, and shell look nothing like one of those. The legs look like more of a box turtle, yet its shell is flatter (than a box turtle's) and it probably lived in the water.

So, any idea what exactly it is???
