Does anyone know what this is? Picture was taken in dappled shade. Leaves are glossy. The entire plant is no more than three inches high, if that.

I'll say Gaultheria procumbens, a nice woodland native. Lots of common names - teaberry, wintergreen, partridgeberry, etc.

You nailed it, thanks. That cluster came with a large potted Solomon Seal that I purchased. It was too nice to yank out as a weed, and as it grows I like it more and more.

Isn't it great when you get a freebie as a "weed" that's not a weed? I have a small plant that hasn't grown much, but it keeps coming back every year.
