Well, thanks for posting it again--your post drew my attention to this thread...I think I missed it the first time. What great photos and piles!

I got great inspiration from the cut up hollow log (as well as the others).

Ahhhhh I see how you missed it!
You joined in December AFTER the contest had ended...
Here's another fun thread we had ourselves a ball with that same summer posting and sharing in that you may also have missed!

WG's Snag Appreciation Program (SAP) contest

Thanks, havalotta...I do remember that thread. By the way, it was recently resurrected.

I may have missed the pile appreciation thread the first time around, but I'm happy I got to see it after the fact.

Have you browsed through the insect contest?
Bug contest photos
That was another real popular one going on before you hooked into W.G.

Thanks...I checked it out, but don't think I'll make it through all 51 pages!

We sure had a full plate during that period....5 CONTESTS if not more, going on all at once!
Piles, snags, insects, Photo of the month, invasives and then even MORE guess what this is type of threads going on.
Ahhhhhhh Those were the days!

Any one can start any contest they'd like (Even now if one chooses to do so) All one has to do is get the OK from Staff.
They'd become the jury and the judge and often supplied the prize if W.G. ever ran out. (Which it never has)
A prize could be as simple as a certificate or as ornate or expensive as one wants.

There was talk about starting a dragonfly photo contest but it never materialized...Too bad, I had taken a ton of shots that summer.
Does anyone want to start a contest? Feel free to do so!
Through contests we all learn soooo much from one another.
