Ok......... I made the rounds catching up on the bloom sequence in my yard and have to sort photos and turn them right side up yet. I'll return when that's done.

A Pss elm we cut down by the bay.
Is that the correct name for it?

The logs are even re sprouting.
Will those eventually die off?
How should I kill the stump?

the first pic, unfortunately, cannot be considered a pile
what I do with the (norway) maples that resprout is either just keep breaking off the green - it gets weary eventually.
ETA: not a good idea in this location! >>> or - paint with herbicide (quicker demise this way).

now those next two pics are unmistakably piles.
an not just any pile, but a land/water pile - very nice!

I included it to show the source. Breaking them off doesn't kill them. I've tried it on other small ones.
I don't know if the herbicide should be used either as I'm concerned about the run off into the bay.
