Default Error Message for New Members

Periodically, I try to promote this site on Facebook to like-minded folks. Recently, I was chatting with a guy who raised grey tree frogs (and has 30 acres for natives/wildlife). He says he tried to register, but couldn't complete the process.

Quote:
I tried to register there to check it out, but can't complete the required captcha because it's disabled. The error message is:
reCAPTCHA V1 IS SHUTDOWN
Direct site owners to g.co/recaptcha/upgrade

I'll try to contact the admin... but today I am just too beat.
But I will upload a frog photo for you...
Can something be done?

Thank you.

Oh my goodness. This is the very first we knew of this issue. Please thank the tree frog gentleman for letting us know.

Some changes to the registration process have been made. I believe he should be able to register now.

TheLorax,

I sure will let him know.

Thank you. I'm glad it could be fixed.

I'm not sure how long it has been like that...I do know that, a while back, someone else joined through my recommendation...and made it through.

Thank you again for all you do from behind the scenes.

Hello everyone, I'm the eastern gray tree frog guy who reported that issue. Thanks for getting that fixed. Google shut down their reCAPTCHA V1 API service on March 31, 2018, so it's been disabled for about 5 months.

Looking forward to posting some of my photos once I find my way around.

Welcome! I'm looking forward to all you have to offer about tree frogs, and perhaps how to attract them to one's property...
