No!!! rather I was digging around the compost pile at about 10:30 AM, and I looked up and there there were, lovely pure yellow. Sad to say tho, between the hollyhocks & the TinaJames....neither has scent, but they are pretty for sure! I wonder what knocked out Tinajames' timing factor?, she doesn't bloom for long as the afternoon heat quickly shrivels that day's blooms.~~~~~of course these plants are big for their size, but still juvenille...and we all know kids do the strangest things. Tis rainy now & the rest of the week, so maybe the bloom factor will change as we get into the summer.

pawprint The threaded hijack continues... to unravel

Ummmmmm well, no havalotta, I haven't watched it that closely yet~~~hey I gotta have fun with tinajames later, so I'm sure at some point this summer I will be out there when the majic happens.

I did see something funny on the yellow blooms today tho, the shriveled trump shaped blooms, practically closed at noon time...but that didn't seem to bother the bumble bee, he just climbed right in anyway, for pollen collection with no competition as there is only room for one in there!~~~or was it privacy?...anyway 'tinajames' might be one of those bug catchers carnivores! as I never did see that bumble bee again!!

Hummmph, with a few more embellishments, I may be telling this story at the next late night campout when it becomes 'tell haunted story time'. Ya, I can hear it now...tinajames was a little ole thing, then she grew & grew & grew, till she nearly bust! hahahahhaa and even the bugs were sore afraid, and that is why the bugs bite us to this very day, on account of little ole tinajames Primrose!

Just for the heck of It, I ran the test to see what it had to say and it's not looking good:
Alternative forum software?-test.jpg

I dislike and have a hard time learning changes if at all ....but I can see the need for those with the new technology that's out there. I haven't the need to purchase and carry such a hand held teeny tiny screened device so yes....I'm still one of the dinosaurs grazing right along next of you. I figure if it still works, why fix it but times are changing and you can definitely see member input has dropped since new technology has taken hold.

Wow! Thank you, both.

I had no idea that such a thing existed. I use my desktop at times, and my smartphone at other times. When on my blog, I tend to prefer clicking on "web version" while on my smartphone. Perhaps there is a way to have both options.

I have been periodically promoting WG on a native plants Facebook page...onecwoman from the group joined...and proceeded to tell me how outdated and NOT user friendly it was. Having been here so long, I don't see it. I do like all of the features that I've learned to use over the years...but she was adamant.

Now, based on your posts, I am seeing that it might be a real problem.

Thanks for the feedback.

Would be GREAT if W.G. could incorporate the new along with the vintage as is we are so used to using....If it is changed totally, I'm unsure if I'd figure out how to jump in to continue participating. I'd hate to loose that aspect

I'm pretty clueless about what is involved and what could be done...i just know that, if I click on "web version", I can view my blog on my phone as if I were on my laptop.

I agree with you. If making changes would allow more members and make the site more welcoming to newcomers, I would deal with the changes--but I'd love for them to offer both, if possible.

I'd ask her to give examples of forums she likes so I'd have something to compare with and/or shoot for. If Facebook groups is her first choice, she is not going to appreciate us even with an update to a phone friendly format.

EDIT: After I posted, I was looking at other posts and an old WG friend's name popped up. Looked at her profile and it has been just under a year since she has been here. Searched for her in a Facebook group I avoid and she has current posts there. I know she prefers this place but the action is happening at Facebook so that is where she is apparently spending her time. Point being that changing the format would just be a start. Next step would to be drive traffic here because the majority of people want to post in busy places. I don't think it would be worth changing the format if you are not going to actively recruit new members.
