I/Is/It/the/but/and/etc- too common.

I tried "is it I" in quotes and got same message.

Then I tried "tree" (which I think would be too common...especially here) and got a ton of listings--obviously, narrowing the search would be better.

When searching for things, I sometimes have to get creative. The one time I was trying to find the "Who will be first" thread--related to members willing to share photos of themselves...even though I knew the title, I couldn't find it. So, I got creative--remembering that havalotta showed a view from behind of red-dyed hair (I'm assuming it was dyed ) with the words "For Valentine's Day", I searched "valentine" and found the thread.

I've not had much time to even catch up with posts lately, so I've note really explored the search options.

That was why I had questioned if the thread had been pulled. Now I understand.....It's just too short to register.

Thanks for informing us that the thread IS still around.
Could we add the word possibly to the title of the thread so it will be recognized and found easily?..."Is it I or possibly W.G?"

I see how the quotes work..... I can search for "search engine limitations" and get this exact thread but if I change the order in search to "limitations engine search".... the thread doesn't come up!!! If I take away the quotation marks.... the thread will come up no matter what order I put the words in. Way cool!!! I dunno about the other "stuff" but.....can't like some sort of a hack be bought that could make searches better without upping other costs or creating a lot of grief>>>>? I don't have any problems flipping for it if it's only like $50 or so.... it'd be worth it to me to NOT have to go to Google.... I DESPISE Google like I despise WalMart and Monsanto.

I was wondering if there was a way to search thread titles specifically. Is there a way to choose between a title search, word search, author search?

After you click on the Search menu item in the top menu bar, read down the Search menu box until you get to Advanced Search. Click on that and you will get more options.

Thanks...I guess I've never tried the advanced search option before...I tried with a title search of "Where's Waldo" since I was sure of the title. In my mind only that thread should have appeared, but a whole list of threads were listed and, after scrolling down, I found the Waldo thread. So, it didn't seem any different than a key word search.

But thanks anyway.

In the Advanced Search if you put this "Where's Waldo?" in the keyword box and then click on the choices under the keyword box you will get a Search Titles Only option. When you do that only the Where's Waldo? thread comes up.

I was on the iPad earlier, so maybe I should try it again on the PC. Glad it worked for you...it didn't seem to for me.
