I clicked over to Amazon through the link, and the opening page with the wildlife book was tagged. How do I know that it stays affiliated when I navigate away from that page?

When you click on any Amazon link from the Wildlife Gardeners Forum, a new window will open taking you to the Amazon Website.

The URL in your browser will look something like this:

Code:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0881929921/ref=nosim/?tag=wildlife-gardeners-20
The coding in the URL associates you with WildlifeGardeners. Any link you click on in Amazon for any product will continue to keep the association with WildlifeGardeners. Once you close your browser, the association with WildlifeGardeners stops.

That's why it's important when you make purchases from Amazon to go there throuh WildlifeGardeners. Doing it this way ensures that a small percentage of your purchases will earn WildlifeGardeners a small credit.

It's all coded and done in the background! (ain't computers cool?!?)

Does this answer your question?

Hazelnut - The chop sticks worked; WG earned a commission. The iron wok wasn't listed, it may not be covered by the program or it may not have shipped yet.

Thank you for using our affiliate program to make your purchases from Amazon.

Also wanted to mention that the revenue program is anonymous.

We receive a monthly list of what was ordered by everyone, but have no way of knowing who ordered what, or even who is using the code at all. Chopsticks were on the list for November, for example, so we presume they are Hazelnut's; but they may have been ordered by someone else.

Amazon protects the buyer's privacy.

If anyone is curious, here's how the program is going so far:
In November, six items were bought using the WG code, for $2.31 total in revenue.
From 12/1/10 to 12/17/10, eighteen items were bought using the WG code, for $26.49 total in revenue.

Another possibility-- could it have already been waiting in your shopping cart, set aside to purchase later, when you clicked through?

We only get credit for purchases that we completely create. This means someone has to:
1) click through our link
2) select items (add them to their shopping cart)
3) buy the items (complete the purchase)
