I like the avatar you already have. I think you should keep it.

As for the black bear scolding - using it would depend on how much scolding one ordinarily does, anneh? 'Sides, bears are on the grumpy side; if you aren't, you might become that way. Stick with the avatar you like.

Pretty much what I had in mind, but I was think of the scene before the Wizard is actually confronted, when he is spotted furtively pulling levers and pushing buttons in order to make the lightning flash and the thunder boom. You know, when the audience realizes that it is just a man, but the other characters do not yet know.
