Another guessing game. Find the butterfly in this picture and win - well, bragging rights! Extra points for identifying the species.

I found Waldo. He is in upper left corner--I colorized it, ...right above the green plant.

That was fun! Thanks.

I'll let someone else I.D. it!

Very good dapjwy, but that's not the one I mean. I didn't realize a second one was there! You get double points for that one.

Keep looking!

Here's a closer look at the one you found. It's tough to ID because of the head-on angle and the wings are closed. Can anyone do it???

Cool! I'm glad I didn't spoil all of the fun. I should've put a "spoiler alert" or something in my post...then again, anyone could just not open my post and still search.

...Now I guess I'll have to search again too. ~smile~

Spoiler alert: Don't look if you want to find Waldo on your own.

I think I found the REAL Waldo this time:

Bingo! You win again for all the marbles! Yes it is a Question Mark and the real Waldo. Can you see the silver question mark on the hind underwing? It's hard to see at that size and resolution. They really blend in with the fall leaves, especially the underwings. There were several this morning on the persimmon fruit. It's interesting that when I went out at noon again, they were gone. In fact most all of the butterflies were gone. I'll check again tomorrow after dawn.

The REAL Waldo.

Yippee.

...I think I see it, kind of. Is that how it got its name? I've got to start learning more about butterflies.

Is there another one directly across from the question mark to the right, at the edge of the oak leaf, right above the stick? Or am I seeing things?
