Morpho Butterfly 2 ~Photos! Butterflies, Moths & Caterpillars 2010~

Spotted this one on morning walk at Walton Woods. Of course, you do understand that most of my stuff comes without IDs, making it more fun for you!

You are welcome though to post your pix with IDs, which is much appreciated by one and all!

So here's my little cutie-face for today! And please view large!

Is it a Hickory tussock moth caterpillar? What is a good online ID site? Images necessary!

I've got lots of Odes and butterfly sights saved but none on caterpillars...

Oh wait I just found one... What's That Bug? Insect identification
I did a caterpillar search and found him Caterpillars And Pupa | What's That Bug?

This is a Pipevine Swallowtail caterpillar I found starving by the side of a road last Friday. No sign of any host plant anywhere around it. What it looked like then...and now. Shouldn't be long before it pupates, I'd bet.

Heavens! What are you feeding it, Linda?

By the side of the road??? Do you have a bumper sticker, "I brake for caterpillars"?
