I could've stood next to any of the butterfly milkweed plants and just waited for the butterflies to land. I didn't do that but I need snap a couple of shots as I walked.

Photo #2 is a wonderful shot! What are the very tall, almost leafless plants? Silphiums come to mind (perhaps compass plant), but I don't see any of the usual large basal leaves.

Not certain, it was something like 95F and I was digging in rubble for tarantulas so to be honest I just now noticed those myself!
