Default Monarch on liatris this morning video

Every day since the Liatris cylindracea began to bloom it has attracted monarch butterflies. I planted three plugs last year and still have over twenty young plants in pots that I started myself from seed, using outdoor winter sowing directly into containers last winter. These young plants will be in ground soon as the weather breaks a bit.

All the sites I have searched out say Liatris cylindracea is only a couple of ft tall, a naturally occuring native dwarf of eastern north America especially the Midwest. https://naturalcommunities.net/ I have found it to be a bit taller but not towering like prairie liatris or meadow liatris or rough blazing star. It gets multiple stems and has really deep roots making it very drought resistant. It has not been a bee magnet but butterflies love it. Makes the best garden liatris/blazing star I have personally come across.

If you would like to see video I took this morning 8/26/2018 below is a public link to my video on facebook

The native plant nursery where I bought the original plants. They are known to me through very reliable sources and I have been very happy with all I picked up from them.
