KILLING BEES & BUTTERFLY’S: CCD, The Case Against the U.S. EPA, USDA, & Monsanto. | Elect a New Congress
excerpt from above:
Quote:
Monsanto’s Round-Up herbicide started killing bees and hives in 1996, when its weaker component of “Agent Orange” of Vietnam infamy, was first broadcast over the farms of America. One third of the food you eat is there because a honeybee pollinated it. If there are no bees, we’ll all need to go on a diet. In the last 10 years America has broadcast over 100,000,000 tons of herbicides into our soil and water killing bees and butterfly’s as well as the weeds. If you’ve heard a lot about not enough bees to pollinate the almond crop in California, you’re going to hear a lot more. Remember Bumble Bee’s? Well, take a picture, because your grandchildren won’t.

It is hard to believe the U.S. EPA and USDA would stand back and let this happen, but this is another lesson in allowing the powers of government end up in the rather private world of public agencies and the dangers of mis-allocating both state and nation legislative powers. Essentially, the U.S EPA and the USDA to a lesser degree, have removed obstructions to new untested centralized food production technologies that are causing infertility and spontaneous abortion in farm animals ranging from 20% to 45% GM (Genetically Modified) Bt (Bacillus Thruingiensis) seed corn, alfalfa, soybean, and sugar beets; POISONING AND KILLING BEES AND BUTTERFLY’S and a lot of other things, like...

While deciding whether to use a herbicide knock out the weeds and plant sedums which divide easy as say hostas or iris I decided to go with the shovel.

While digging a dandelion I came across an acorn sprouting.

Carefully replanting the embryo and marking it with a stick made me feel better about my choice

Isn't that the truth! When we garden in accord with nature, we always get rewarded by observing nature with the eye of one interested in her welfare. Good decision, indeed!
