That seems right. The only other caterpillar that I am familiar with that even comes close is Lophocampa maculata - see Spotted tussock moth - Lophocampa maculata - BugGuide.Net
BTW, these insects now appear to be placed in the family Erebidae,; the arctiids now being considered a subfamily, Arctiinae.

Thanks! That looks right. I'm gonna read up on it now. Thanks for doing the leg work for me--I didn't mean to be lazy...I just thought I'd ask people who know to point me in the right direction.
