I believe it is one of the Noah series- it was published in 2001. Here is a link to it on Amazon. Amazon.com: Noah's Children: Restoring the Ecology of Childhood (9780865475847): Sara Stein: Books

If this isn’t reason to unplug your kids…. I dunno what is, ‘The Artificial Habitat of Man, The Artificial Habitat for Mankind: This Isn?t the End of the Road - BlackListedNews.com, “To manage these “barbarians” an artificial habitat has been created in which the reward system of our brain is constantly stimulated with artificial forms of satisfaction (television, video games, porn, artificial flavoring, Facebook, etc.) in place of seeking after real partners, real experiences, knowledge, and adventure. It is a real life matrix. We have an artificially induced sense of fulfillment, and deep down we know it is but a shadow of who we could be. This is the scientific attack that we are enduring, and if we become conscious of it we can make the first steps in conquering it.” I’m not into most of the article much more than I know a great % of our global brethren view us as unproductive over-consuming eaters but I picked up on the consume consume consume message!!! We watched the video in it and had a coupla our kids watch it too and by gosh by golly…. they found zip nadda no humor in it whatsoever so we did something right. Hit a little too close to home I think with that geocaching comment even though we pretty much unplugged em from everything else by keeping em so busy… they didn’t have time to spend totally draining their brains.
