REPTILES AND AMPHIBIANS OF THE SMOKIES

Stephen Tilley is an expert on the reptiles & amphibians of the smokies. He provides a good summary of how to find salamanders in the park (and really applicable to pretty much anywhere) and how to ethically handle reptiles and amphibians. Each species is described as far as habits, indentification, etc. He also provides a history of the Smokey Mountains Park and major natural and man made events that impacted the reptiles & amphibians inside the park. If you've ever wondered about creating your own backyard salamander mecca, this book and a trip to the smokeys will really drive home the type of habitat they thrive under.
