The funny/amazing thing is, that I *may* have heard that same call tonight! I was out working in the yard, and after the sun went down, I kept walking the paths, unwilling to go inside. Just before it got too dark and I decided to go inside, I heard an odd sound...it could very well have been a woodcock. I even thought about trying to record it on video next time...and post it here to see if anyone could identify it for me. ![]() I'd love to find out that, that is what I heard...and that they are in the area! My only experience with the woodcock is from a painting in a book I used to use as inspiration for drawing when I was about fourteen.
