"Harry Potter's owl is at Montrose."
Looking for food the snowy owls are expected in large numbers.

Harry Potter's owl invading Chicagoland - chicagotribune.com

Quote:
But when autumn arrived, the adults wanted whatever food was available for themselves and forced the young owls to leave. Kerlinger's studies have shown that most of the owls found outside their breeding range in winter are immature birds. They aren't solid white like the adults, but have extensive black markings on their bodies.
