Default Through My Window

I never considered taking pictures through a window until I saw someone else post some pictures shot through a window and I realized you could hardly tell. So this winter I decided I would give it a try. I took the screen out of two of the bedroom windows, cleaned the glass up and then I sat back and waited to see if pictures through my window would work for me too.

This first picture is to give you an idea of how close I really am to the feeder and an idea of what I am shooting through. I'm thinking this would be much easier if my windows were one big pane.

Now that you've seen what I had to work with I'll show you some of what I see...Through My Window.

This first shot is a Blackbird and he's coming in for a landing.

These next two are Tufted Titmice taking off.

Here a Carolina Chickadee has grabbed his treat and is making a hasty retreat.

Now if I could only catch a shot of a cardinal coming and not leaving.

What a BEAUTIFUL view you have, MaggyNoLia!

So different than what I see in PA, but definitely beautiful. This is a prime example of why it is important to preserve the natural beauty of our own areas.

As for taking pictures through windows, I do it sometimes, but with mixed results. My windows are one big pain ...sometimes.

Great shots of birds in flight. I've yet to capture any that are any good.

A woodpecker enjoys an afternoon snack.

An then grabs a bite to go.

Ahh, but he's back and there's a cardinal waiting in line.

Through My Window-img_3951_edited.jpg

I wonder where he's going to hide that nut?

I SAY IT'S MY TURN!

A Red-winged Blackbird comes in for his turn.

A Bluebird visits...but will it like seeds?

Through My Window-img_5012.jpg

That sure looks like a seed or nut in his mouth to me.

Through My Window-img_5018.jpg

Don't think I don't see you over there...

Through My Window-img_5028.jpg

And then the Blackbirds descend.

I'll just take this side here.

I see a spot down there.

GERONIMO!

Now which one should I choose?

That's it for now. I've got more pictures to go through and more days to take even more so I may very well be adding more and if you've taken some shots through some glass and want to share here please feel free. The more the merrier!

Thank you for the compliment on our view. We do enjoy it and the waterfowl are just as abundant as the birds pictured above. When I wake up I could see anything from the size of an Eagle down to a little Chickadee. We never know what we'll wake up to in the back yard.

My parents live in Maryland and I did for quite a few years so I know just how pretty Pennsylvania can be. It's a different kind of green up there and one my eyes can not get enough of when I am up that way.

So, how about letting us see some of those mixed results...unless that would be too paneful...
