The hawk was calling me to pick it but then there was that hummingbird photo that's the best I've ever seen of a hummingbird in my life. Decisions decisions. I'm one of those people dragging road kill off the side of the road so vultures don't get whacked by cars so those raptor eye balls staring me down from that hawk photo melted me. It sorta spoke to me on an emotional level so I picked it.

Oh, thank you, thank you! It's not often you see a hawk chowing down on a deer!

We don't hardly ever see anything chowing down on dead anything. The road crews are quick to pick it up. Every once in a while I beat em to the punch and can haul something off the road and way over. If you can get it sorta half on private land with only a little bit in the right of way.... the village employees drive right by it leaving it for the official clean up crew. Nice photo.... gives us a glimpse into the natural world.

All are remarkable photos! I don't know what it is exactly, but I feel drawn in to each bird's experience. Perhaps it's the eyes that create that intensity that I feel in their expressions. Whatever it is, it's there.
There were a lot of great photo's in that thread!
