Canada geese are everywhere this time of year, but around here they are an everyday part of the living landscape. This family strolled past my office today, providing a photo opportunity that I found irresistible.

Very sweet! So many areas around here have a distinct lack of babies this spring, because it's easier for the commercial properties to destroy the nests now. Sad...

I've seen a couple of nests in shopping mall parking lots (they nest in the flower boxes). Is that just a local phenomenon, or everywhere?
There are goslings at the park, too. |
