Default Mid-Michigan bird banding blog

Try to say that three times, fast!

I've been reading the e-mail updates on bird banding at the Alma College Bird Observatory for years. Mike Bishop, the director, does a nice job of keeping everything short and to the point, while adding just enough commentary to make the most interesting pieces pop. This has been a great way to keep up to date on migration and find out about occasional rare observation in the Great Lakes region. He has started a blog, with photos and commentary about the birds and plants on the 186 acres of land that they have. He sets nets in spring, summer and fall. Things slow down in the summer, but spring and fall are usually fairly active. Things should be picking up now that he has his mist nets are repaired, after an encounter with a deer or two.

I have watched banders work. Most interesting.

Does this man have any YouTube videos of his work?

He just graduated from e-mail. This is a huge improvement! He might accept a volunteer.

I graduated to email in the recent past also. Poor man. It takes time adjusting to the 21st century.
