Warning ---- Bad photo alert. No need to worry, just a bit blurry.
I've been adding a few here and there for you to guess at, now could you tell ME what kinds of birds I have here. ![]() Is this a rose breasted grosbeak? It's lacking the red breast... ![]() Here's a rolly polly that looked kind of neat sitting dead center of all those branches. ![]() Can't seem to find out what this big headed one is.... ![]() or this pretty little one....

Yes it is a Carolina wren. I like the perkiness they exhibit.
Thanks Bridget.... I think it may be a house finch as you say... I was thrown by the black on its face and chest along with what appears to be a crest.. All these things could be just shadows and wind lifted feathers...

Havalotta, I'd guess the third picture in post #71 is one of the flycatchers (Empidonax sp.) and the fourth pic is a redpoll. I remember somewhere recently you posted a picture of a house finch labeled as a redpoll.
OK, here's a real stumper ![]() |

Thanks swampy.... I do recall entering a redpole into the friends and foes contest a while back... I've been trying to add a photo of every kind of bird I've came across in the past year so people can identify them properly. If you catch any more booboos let me know asap so I'm able to edit them...I don't want to mislead anyone...
I've been flipping back and forth between redpole and house finch photos and I'm not seeing any differences. The finches seem to look more sleek than the rounded out bodies of the redpole unless they were just puffed up to keep warm... . Could you point the differences out to me??? I'll make a correction over there once we determine if it is indeed a house finch...
