Look at the color of the legs.... Hint.... we used to have a lot more of them until mute swans started taking over.

Maybe I don't know what the bird butts belong to. I thought I did but maybe not.... Tundra swans have black legs too. I was thinking trumpeter swans. The mute swans are always running them and ducks off.

Swans are very aggressive. We don't have any native swans here in NJ. There are a few pairs who try to nest every year at the Refuge, but the biologists always addle the eggs so we don't get overrun with ANOTHER nonnative species!

Ah, bridget1964 was really close then, at least we got the swan part right! It is tough to identify birds from just the butt part!
